De Zweedse loterij A-lotterierna is in opspraak gekomen omdat het loten op krediet verkocht aan mensen met financiële problemen. Het ging hierbij om loten voor de Kombilotteriet. Pikant detail is dat deze loterij eigendom is van de Zweedse sociaal-democratische partij, zeg maar de Zweedse versie van de Partij van de Arbeid (PvdA).
In Zweden is het verkopen om loten en weddenschappen op krediet te verkopen. Dat is een goede wet, want op deze manier worden mensen met financiële problemen beschermd tegen nog meer financiële problemen. Heel dubieus: de sociaal-democratische partij heeft in Zweden voor zichzelf een uitzondering geregeld in de wet.
700 mensen kochten loten op krediet
De sociaal-democratische partij, de Socialdemokraterna, organiseert deze loterij om onder meer de verkiezingscampagne te financieren. Uit onderzoek door Zweedse media is gebleken dat 700 mensen op krediet mee wisten te doen aan de loterij. Deze mensen konden hun ticket niet direct betalen, omdat ze grote financiële problemen hadden en deurwaarders al beslag hadden gelegd op hun inkomen. Voor Zweedse sociaal-democraten zijn de problemen van deze mensen blijkbaar ondergeschikt aan het spekken van de partijkas.
Nu de media er lucht van hebben gekregen en over berichten, gaan ook de sociaal-democraten er werk van maken. Negatieve publiciteit kan men missen als kiespijn. Zoals overal in Europa, hebben ook in Zweden de sociaal-democraten het moeilijk. Penningmeester Roger Barzell heeft het punt nu geagendeerd bij de politieke leiding van de Socialdemokraterna. Barzell eist dat er maatregelen worden getroffen om te voorkomen dat er in de toekomst weer loten worden aangesmeerd aan mensen met financiële problemen.
Sociaal-democratische loterij vaker in opspraak
In 2016 gaf de Zweedse kansspeltoezichthouder de sociaal-democraten er al van langs. Naar oordeel van de toezichthouder was het voor deelnemers onvoldoende duidelijk wat er precies gebeurt met de inleg in de loterij. Een deel wordt uitgekeerd als prijzengeld, maar ook een groot deel verdwijnt in de partijkas van de socialisten. De sociaal-democraten verschuilden zich achter Kombilotteriet, de organisator van de loterij.
Uiteindelijk moesten brieven en folders aangepast worden om duidelijk te maken aan potentiële deelnemers dat een groot deel van de inleg ten goede komt van de partijkas van de sociaal-democraten. Mensen die al loten hadden gekocht, konden hun geld niet terugvragen.
Je kunt via The Lotter aan veel loterijen meedoen, maar niet aan Zweedse loterij. Een leuk alternatief is de Eurojackpot. De jackpot staat op dit moment op 22 miljoen euro !
